This course represents entry level training designed to educate the general diving and non-qualified diving public in recognising possible dive related injuries and to provide emergency oxygen first aid while activating the local emergency medical services and or arranging for evacuation to the nearest medical facility. In addition, this course will introduce novice divers to the fundamentals of dive accident recognition, response and management. This programme also provides an excellent opportunity for experienced divers and instructors to continue their education.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this course is to train and educate the general diving public in entry level techniques in first aid management of suspected dive accidents using oxygen.
CURRICULUM
The curriculum is varied and informal, involving lecture, discussions and practice scenarios. A large proportion of the course is very much hands on, with various scenarios for breathing and non-breathing, conscious and unconscious divers, Using three different mask options in a variety of situations ensures that skill and confidence in handling and use of equipment is built. During and after this programme you will receive an Accident Management Manual, certification card, plastic file and stickers

PREREQUISITES
The recommended minimum age for participation in this course is twelve. It is suggested that those with junior diver certification participate in this course with their adult buddy. All participants must register 14 days before the course.
