The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) is the world's largest and most popular recreational training organisation. Using a consistent set of standards and guide-lines, you can be sure that, as a PADI diver, your underwater skills and knowledge will be second to none.
REWARDS
On completion of your course, you will be a QUALIFIED SCUBA DIVER. You will receive an internationally recognised PADI Certification Card, a cloth PADI emblem and a Wall Certificate. You will be able to buy equipment, rent air cylinders and go out on boats to explore the aquatic realm, world-wide! You will be allowed to dive to a depth of 18m/60ft and dive in conditions that are comparable to, or better than, those in which you were trained. Following your Open Water Course you will then be able to progress through a comprehensive series of PADI courses that have been designed to maximise Your enjoyment of the underwater world and what it has to offer.
CURRICULUM
This is a five day course during which you are continually assessed. It is normally held over two consecutive weekends on Saturdays and Sundays, plus Monday evenings. Starting with the academics, we use PADI's latest training videos to start each session; your Instructor will then take over and elaborate on the information given. You will then begin your confined water training in one of our swimming pools. Progressing through your skills you will be amazed how easily you gain confidence in your abilities. Each skill is designed to be logical, realistic and to relate to practical diving situations. The course culminates in four Open Water dives where your pool skills are applied in a "real" setting. With a maximum of four students to each instructor whilst in the sea
(or Brighton Marina which we lease), you will be under close supervision.
The price of your course includes everything you will need to learn to dive, use of our top quality equipment, the boat, endless tea and coffee and your Open Water Crewpack. The Crewpack comprises of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual, a logbook (to record your dives) and the Recreational Dive Planner, all of which are yours to keep.
What better passport to the underwater world? However, a quick warning - your holidays and free time will never be the same again!
